ABOUT THE TEAM
Upper Room Christan World Center's Online Street Team is an online group of volunteers who have a desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but may not yet have the burden for "in-person" evangelism.
Using the power of exponential numbers and the reach of today's internet social networks, there is the realistic potential to reach thousands of people in just minutes a day.
We make use of standard phone text messages, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, emails, and word of mouth to energize the power of "pass it on" promotion and the success principals of "Viral" promotion.
The ultimate goal of course is to reach as many people as we possibly can so that we can spread the gospel to a world of people who need to hear it, and also to minister to the needs of the countless millions who have heard the gospel, but need to be reached with relevance and love in their situations.
But without reaching them, there is nothing we can do for them. That's where the street team comes in. We use online social networks and simple math principals to reach a potential of countless thousands in only minutes a day.

HOW IT WORKS
It is as simple as it is powerful. Once you are an official member of our Street Team, you will receive periodic emails and/or text messages with small assignments to help promote Upper Room's evangelical event's, theatrical productions, services, special outreaches, prayer meetings etc... Here is an example "task"...
STREET TEAM TASK
Send a phone text message / facebook status post / myspace bulletin / email / etc...to all of your appropriate friends and associates about tomorrow night's prayer / healing service, @ 7PM in the Gym.
Below are example instructions when and how to send the messages:
Message 1: Send Today @ 3PM - "Hey everyone, tomorrow night at 7PM we're having a powerful prayer and healing service. If you want to see miracles, don't miss it. Don't forget to pass this along to your friends!"
Message 2: Send Tomorrow @ 12NOON - "Hey everyone, just a reminder that tonight at 7PM is that prayer and healing service. Hope you can make it, PASS IT ON!"
Message 3: Send Tomorrow @ 5:30PM - "Prayer and Healing Service tonight at 7PM, urcwc.com for directions and info! So excited, gonna be hot!!"
As you can see in the above example task, it is not time consuming or difficult to be part of the Upper Room Street Team! But by the power of exponential numbers, only a few members can cause a reach to thousands!

Don't believe it, look at the math: - 1 tells 10. (now 10 people know)
- Those 10 each tell an average of 5. (now 60 people know)
- Those new 50 each tell an average of 4. (now 260 people know)
- Those new 200 each tell an average of 3. (now 860 people know)
- Those new 600 each tell an average of 2. (now 2,060 people know)
CAN YOU SEE THE POTENTIAL!!! Over 2,000 people know because 1 person told 10, and it was "passed along" with only a small number of people being told by each person reached!!
